The cedar we mill, the logs we harvest, the seedlings we rescue, the materials we recover from restoration sites — these become products you can put to use on your own property. We're building a catalog of value-added goods whose materials come entirely from within our service area. This is early and growing.

Shiitake Mushroom Logs

Logs sourced from our own restoration projects in MN and western WI, cut into 36" lengths and then inoculated with cold-hardy strains of edible mushrooms that will flush mushrooms for an average of 5 to 7 years.
Oyster Mushroom Logs

Willow, poplar and box elder logs sourced from our restoration projects and inoculated with oyster mushroom spawn. Fast-fruiting and productive. A great complement to the shiitake log that will provide reliable yields for 3-4 years.

Where this is heading
We're starting to see something take shape — a way for the byproducts of ecological restoration work to flow back into the community as useful things. Lumber. Mushroom logs. Eventually, harvested foods from properties with more than they need. We're not ready to call it a system yet. But we're paying attention to it, and building toward it intentionally.
